Issued alongside the iconic 1941 Pattern "Mae West" life jacket, this specialised multi-tool was designed specifically for emergency use by downed flight crews stuck in inflatable rubber life rafts.
Every design choice on this emergency knife prioritises survival at sea. It features a blocky, lightweight cork handle painted in a high-visibility rescue orange, ensuring the tool floats and remains easily retrievable if dropped in dark or choppy waters. The skeletonized stainless steel blade is purposefully crafted with a blunt, completely rounded tip to prevent accidental punctures to the survivor's rubber dinghy. Additionally, the curved hook at the front of the blade acts as an integrated can opener, allowing stranded pilots to open survival rations.
