The Canberra was developed by English Electric during the 1940s in response to 1944 Air Ministry requirement for a successor to the Mosquito fast bomber. It successfully performed various roles including tactical bombing, photographic & electronic reconnaissance.
In June 2006, the Canberra retired after 57 years after its first flight.
